DIGITAL RECORDING <br /> • <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> March 15, 2017 <br /> The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> March 15, 2017, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Interim Chair Richard Huddy <br /> presiding. Council Members present were Dino Davis, Greg Wheeler, Leslie Daugs, and Pat <br /> Sullivan. Council Chairs Eric,Younger and Jerry McDonald were absent. Also present were City <br /> Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; Legislative Assistant Lori Smith; and Kevin <br /> Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Pat Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Pastor Roger Hermitian of Apostolic Life Tabernacle. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT— Mayor Patty Lent announced the following... <br /> • Fire Chief Candidates Reception on Thursday, March 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Fire <br /> Station 1 at 911 Park Avenue; <br /> • Apnual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 18 at 11:00 AM at 6th & Pacific; <br /> • Visual Arts Slideshow, Talk & Panel Discussion with Jack Troy on Saturday, March 18 at <br /> 6:00 PM in the Olympic College Rotunda; <br /> • Goodwill's free life skill and job training classes begin on March 20; <br /> • 1st Annual Bremerton Neighborhood Summit on Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 <br /> PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 1015 Veneta; <br /> • Evergreen Rotary Park's "Nearshore Restoration Alternatives Review" at the Parks & <br /> Recreation Commission Meeting on Tuesday, March 28 at 5:30 PM at the Sheridan Park <br /> Community Center; <br /> • 60th Annual Washington State Science & Engineering Fair on March 31 and April 1 at <br /> Bremerton High School; <br /> • Annual Mayor's Conservation Challenge with a chance to win prizes through April 30 by <br /> taking the Water Pledge at; <br /> • Sarah Achaoui, CDBG Program Administrator provided highlights of the 2016 Community <br /> Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and Dayna Ebersole, BEST Program <br /> Manager (Kitsap Community Resources) shared program information and highlights of the <br /> showcase held in November 2016; and announced the next classes begins April 11; and <br /> • Proclaimed April 1, 2017 as "National Service Recognition Day" which was accepted by <br /> Andrea Dolan Potter, RSVP Director at Lutheran Community Services Northwest. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT BRIEFING <br /> Police Chief Steven Strachan used a Power Point presentation to highlight trends, statistics, and <br /> police activity for the Months of February through early March. Comments and questions were <br /> provided by Wheeler, Daugs, and Huddy; with responses provided by Chief Strachan... <br /> Interim Chair Richard Huddv announced that a Special Meeting will be held on Wednesday, <br /> March 29 beginning with a Briefing at 5:00 PM in the Council Conference Room; followed by the <br /> Special Meeting at 5:30 PM in the First Floor Meeting Chambers... <br />
