MWA <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING AMS <br /> JUN p 5 2013 <br /> CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br /> Wednesday, May 29, 2013 <br /> A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the Council <br /> Conference Room of the NORM DicKs GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6 Street, Bremerton, <br /> Washington, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 5:00 PM, with Council President Greg Wheeler <br /> presiding. Council Members present were Eric Younger, Carol Arends, Faye Flemister, Wendy <br /> Priest, Leslie Daugs, and Jim McDonald. Council Members Adam Brockus and Nick Wofford were <br /> absent. Lori Smith, Legislative Assistant, was present to provide staff support. <br /> President Wheeler emphasized that the Special Meeting was open to the public but there would <br /> be no opportunities for input or participation and no action was anticipated. The purpose of the <br /> meeting was to continue discussion of the following items and 2014 City Council Goals: <br /> 1. Proposed ordinance creating new Chapter 5.06 of the Bremerton Municipal Code entitled <br /> "Rental Property Registration" Item to be introduced at Council Meeting June 5 <br /> 2. Discussion on Public Works items including crosswalk and sidewalk prionties, set - asides for <br /> grant match; creating a contingency fund for small street projects; funding road maintenance <br /> & paving overlays, and other related topics Tentative items for 2014 City Council Goals <br /> 3. Proposed amendments to the Bremerton City Charter including renaming Section 18 from <br /> "City Auditor" to "Perforrnance and Efficiency Audits", correcting language for Council <br /> Members being reduced from 9 to 7, establishing a time limit for filling a vacancy in the Office <br /> of the Mayor, eliminating full -time requirement for the Mayor, creating an option to hold <br /> Special Meetings outside of Bremerton City limits; and several other proposed amendments <br /> to the Bremerton City Charter Items for continued discussion June 12 <br /> 4.
