<br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday,
<br /> March 6, 2013, at 5 00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NOW DICKS GOVERNMENT
<br /> CENTER, 345 6 th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg Wheeler presiding
<br /> Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Eric Younger, Carol Arends, Faye Flemister, Wendy
<br /> Priest, Adam Brockus, Leslie Daugs, and Jim McDonald Also present were City Attorney Roger
<br /> Lubovich, City Clerk Shannon Conn, and Legislative Assistant Lori Smith
<br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council
<br /> Conference Room, immediately following was the Council Meeting at 5 30 PM
<br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Jim McDonald followed by the invocation
<br /> provided by Pastor Rick Glomstad of Sylvan Way Baptist Church
<br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION
<br /> Mike Walton Bremerton Family YMCA Marketing Director, reported on upcoming activities including
<br /> the next Resolution Run to be held on April 7, and encouraged people to support the "Strong Kids
<br /> Campaign
<br /> Roy Runyon would be hosting a Bremerton City Charter Convention to discuss proposed Charter
<br /> amendments on Monday, March 18 from 6 30 to 8 00 PM at the Kitsap Regional Library, Sylvan Way
<br /> Branch, and encouraged citizens to read the Charter which is available on the City's website
<br /> Jerry McDonald announced the 3` Annual Concierge Tour would be held on Wednesday, March 20,
<br /> and that he was also working to bring more entertainment back to the Bremerton Boardwalk
<br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Patty Lent
<br /> • Proclaimed the Month of March 2013 as "American Red Cross Month ", which was accepted
<br /> by Executive Director Karen McKay Bevers and a group of dedicated Red Cross volunteers,
<br /> • Introduced Sara Green Harrison Medical Center, who stated an enrollment period would be held
<br /> from April 3 to 10 for persons interested in participating in a 20 -year Cancer Prevention Study,
<br /> • Presented a Community Service Plaque to Holly James in appreciate of 10 years of dedicated
<br /> service on the Civil Service Commission, and
<br /> • Proclaimed the Month of March 2013 as "Brain Injury Awareness Month ", which was
<br /> accepted by Suzanne Griffin
