Sampo/City of Bremerton Transaction
Please find attached hereto the original Title Policy with regard to the above-referenced
transaction. You will note that, under the "Special Exemptions" listed in the policy, it shows
the second half of 1994 property taxes owing. I stopped by Land Title today to discuss this
with them, as this should not have shown up on the policy since the City is exempt. We
closed this transaction on June 22, 1994 and the first half ofproporty taxes had already been
paid by the Sampos. The Sampos would therefore be entitled to a small reimbursement
from the County after property taxes were pro-rated from the time the City took over the
property. Sue Fowler-Line, of Land Title, checked with the County and saw that the taxes
were now showing "exempt" and that there was a credit of $18.99, which is the
reimbursement amount that willbe sent to the Sampos by the County (See copy of print-out
from Land Title's computer attached hereto). So, item No. 4 under the Special Exemptions
in the Title Policy can be disregarded.
Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions in this regard.
