MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE
CITY OF BREMERTON AND KITSAP COUNTY
Downtown Bremerton Library
This Memorandum of Understanding is executed by the City of Bremerton (City) and Kitsap County
(County) on the date fully executed below. The ptupose of this Memorandum of Understanding ts to
clarit'y the County's commitment to pay $100,000 to the City as part of the financing for renovation of the
Downtown Bremerton Library (Library).
The City has developed a financial plan for renovation of the Library in the aggregate amount $416,000.
This plan includes funding by the City, the City's Community Development Block Grant program, a
private foundation, the Gates Foundation, a local group, the Friends of the Library, as well as the County.
The City's request to the County is for $100,000.
This Memorandum clarifies that it is the parties' intent that the County pay thc City $100.000 as noted
above from funds currently appropriated in the County's General Fund for "one time" expenditures, and
the execution by the parties below documents such intention. The payment of $100,000 shall be paid by
the County upon execution, by the City, ora construction contract for renovation of the Library facilities.
This funding is contingent on the City securing a Gates Foundation grant for the purpose of renovating
the Library.
