The proposed building would be located adjacent to the Fire Station on Olympus Drive in Bremerton. We tmderstand that your desire is to prepare a limited design package suitable for obtaining bids from various pre-engineered building manufacturers. We propose to prepare a bid package for you that would consist of the following items: a) A site plan showing the location of the new pre-engineered metal building relative to the existing Fire Station and Olympus Drive. The site plan would show setback distances to the property lines and pedestrian walkways required to connect the new building to the Fire Station. b) A utility plan that would show the extension of utilities required to support the new building. These would include electrical power, telephone, domestic water, sanitary sewer, stormwater and natural gas. c) A floor plan showing the location and type of construction of any interior walls and utility stub-out locations will be provided. d) A technical specification for the pre-engineered metal building will be provided that will establish the basic building dimensions, wall panel and roof panel colors, insulation requirements, acceptable types of framing and locations for doors and windows. e) A preliminary foundation plan will be provided for bid purposes. The final foundation plan will be provided by the building manufacturer, based on final column loads for their specific building. The above items, combined with the City of Bremerton front-end specifications, should provide a well-balanced description of the City's needs for the facility that will allow you to obtain comparable competitive bids from several pre-engineered building manufacturers. Following receipt of bids, Washington Engineering would assist you in evaluating the bids to ensure compliance with the specifications. We propose to accomplish this work concurrently with the design work that we will be performing for the Special Operations Group facility renovation. The work would be accomplished in a thirty (30) day period, at a fixed fee of $5,700. You may authorize this work, either by signing and returning one copy of this letter agreement or by authorization using your standard contracting documents. We are looking forward to serving the City of Bremerton to provide this needed facility. Please contact me at your convenience if you have any questions on this proposal. Sincerely, Michael W. Biggs, PE AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED Washington Engineering is authorized to proceed with the preparation of the bid package documents for the pre-engineered metal building for Fire Department operations for a fixed fee of $5,700.
