Sole Source Determination-Lift Station CW-I Parts
ln accordance with Bremerton Municipal Code 2.76.090, Sole Source Purchases, the purpose of
this memorandum is to document the necessity of sole sour@ procurement methodology for the
purchase of new wet end parts for the sewage pumps at lift station CW-1.
Reasoning (check al! supporting options below):
A Gompatibility to existing City standard or to existing equipment, inventory, systems, data,
programs or service. This purchase is to replace 'wet end" parts for the pumps at lift station CW-
1. The parts are hardened ductile iron and have a longer lifespan than cheaper pump parts. City
staff has standardized this vendor for these parts specifically for lift station CW-1 due to the robust
materials used in the parts themsetves. This uttimately means less money and time spent to
replace and purchase inferior parts.

After reviewing sales quote #11068894from Pump Tech in the amount of $52,039.27, our staff
believes this is a fair and reasonable price.
Therefore, it is my determination that it is in the City's best interests to purchase the CW-1 parts
through direct negotiation, pursuant to BMC 2.76.090 and 2.76.010, and that sole source
purchase of the pump parts is justified for this procurement.
