SUMMARY:
In 2023 the Parks & Recreation Department applied for and received a Department of Commerce
grant in the amount of $299,730 for an assessment ($100,000) of the Jarstad Aquatic Center
including funding towards repair of the roof ($199,730) following the facility assessment. The
assessment will identify building deficiencies and allow for critical repairs to the structure and roof
system allowing the facility to continue to operate safely and be available for use by the community.

FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount):
Funding for the project is in the 2026 budget in the amount of $299,730. The potentialimpact on
future budgetswill be determined after the assessment has been completed.
STUDY SESSION ACTION:Consent Agenda General Business Public Hearing
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the grant agreement with the Department of Commerce for the Jarstad Aquatic
Center Assessment and Roof Repairprojectand authorize the Mayorto finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
