Control / Communicators are capable of monitoring alarm points for intruder or fire alarms while operating user command centers, (access readers, door locks - D7412/ D9412), and other outputs. Includes a built-in digital communicator which reports events to selected destinations via 4 programmable route groups. Programming and accessory modules offer flexibility and beneficial features rarely found in other security control systems. Area configurations 9000 Series' area programming offers you a wide selection of different system configurations. Each area is assigned an account number to define annunciation, control, and reporting functions. Multiple areas can be linked to a shared area which is automatically controlled (hallway or lobby). Area arming can be conditional on other areas (master/associate). User Interface 9000 Series command centers provide on -premises point and system status annunciation. A fully selectable user interface can customize command center displays and simplify operation by creating menu items and functions, appropriate only to that command center. Function Lists can help a user become familiar with the operation of the control panel. Custom functions allow users to perform complex functions with a few keystrokes. Each may be programmed and identified by 16 characters of custom text and contain up to 32 keystrokes. D1255 Command Center, D1256 Fire Alarm Command Center and D1257 Fire Alarm Annunciator use a 16 -character English language display to show system status, area status (custom text), and point status (custom text). D720 8 -point LED area command center provides command functions and annunciation for up to 8 points in a single area. Any combination of these command centers may be used within the same area. Easy to remember commands like Command 1, Command 2, and Command 8 make an easy transition for seasoned Radionics users. User Passcodes 9000 Series can accommodate: • D72121D7412: 99 user passcodes D91121D9412: 249 user passoodes. (Each passcode individually programs with 3 to 6 digits in length and no fixed digits). Each user is assigned one of 14 customized authority levels in each area. You may restrict passoodes to operate only during certain times. Each user may have a 16 -character customized name that may be viewed, printed, reported to a central station in radionics' Modem 111a2*" Communications format or retrieved with Remote Account Manager (RAM). L923 PM 391738 (6198) 24 Security and Fire Detection 9000 Series provide eight 'on -board' detection points, and up to 238 additional off -board points (depending on Model and expansion interfaces). Points may be individually programmed and used to monitor all types of burglar alarm, fire alarm, and supervision devices. communications 9000 Series have four route groups, sorts reports by priority and are capable of transmitting reports to up to four locations. Each group has a programmable primary and backup destination. Radionics' Modem Illa "' Communications Format, available with Radionics' D6500 Receiver, adds these reporting capabilities. To name just a few: • Individual point numbers and text • Opening/Closing reports by area number • Remote programming attempts • Diagnostic reports • Access control events with user name Event Log Storage, Viewing and Printing 9000 Series' event log automatically stores up to 10DOevents. All local and transmitted events are stored (some access events are selectable). Event log includes time, date and event, with area, point and user number. Users may view event log from Alpha Command Centers. Events may be retrieved remotely using RAM. Events print as they are stored in event log. D9131 A Parallel Printer Interfaces can be installed to record events locally on one, two, or three printers (depending on model). Each can print opening and closing, access, alarm, Skeds, or any combination of events. Each can print information from any combination of areas. Each can supervise various printer status conditions. Event log and local printer are ideally suited for customers who like to have a record of openings and closings without having extra communications costs. Logger and Remote Account Manager, can suppress reports and than retrieve events periodically using one phone call, rather than receiving several calls each day. When the panel's event log reaches its programmed threshold of stored events, it can send a report to D6500 Receiver to remind central station to retrieve events from the panel's event log with Remote Account Manager. Scheduled Events (Skeds) 9000 Series' internal dock and calendar help the panel operate individually scheduled events (Skeds). Skeds performs a specific function (such as arm/disarm, relay control, point bypassing, etc.). Each Sked is programmed for a time -and -day -of -week schedule or a date -of -year schedule. Users may change Sked Time if programmed for local time editing. Holiday schedules can enable or disable individual Skeds during holiday periods. • 64 scheduled events with up to 26 different functions • Day -d- reek or date -of -year schedules • Four holiday schedules of 366 days each (leap year) 9000 Series Specification Sheet ®1998 Radionics, Inc. Fire Test 9000 Series Fire Test Mode suppress reports to central station so you can test initiating and indicating devices without transmitting alarms. Initiating Fire Test Mode, sends 'Fire Walk Start" to central station indicating start of test. Test events become 'local only'. Command center shows how many points are to be tested. Each time a device initiates an alarm, programmed point text displays at command center and fire bell rings for 2 seconds. Automatic sensor reset feature allows continued testing of devices without time consuming trips to manually reset sensors. At the end of test, command center displays number of untested points. You can also view point text for each untested point. _ Ending Fire Test Mode, sends 'Fire Walk End" to central station indicating end of test. Combining Access Control with Security and Fire Detection (D741209412) 9000 Series' combined systems can help prevent false alarms making it easy to use one system that controls access, security, and fire functions. Access control features of D74121D9412 can deny access during armed periods, grant access only to certain authonzed users depending whether an area is master armed, perimeter armed or disarmed. Alarm system can automatically disarm when designated authorized users are granted access. D7412: Two (2) access doors 175 detection points D9412: Eight (8) access doors / 246 detection points D9210B Access Control Interface Module Access is granted from Wiegand format readers or Request to Enter/Exit devices when connected to D9210B. Also provided are connections for door point, strike, buzzer and enclosure tamper. (One D9210B required per door). • Each access door can be configured independently • Door point controls access door and is part of alarm system (door does not need double contacts) • Door contact can reset strike time when opened • Door contact can terminate entry buzzer (if used) • Door contact is shunted when valid access is granted • Optional buzzer can trigger prior to and of door shunt period, warning user a 'door left open" condition is about to occur. • Door point can be configured to generate alarm or trouble (or have no response) when door is left open beyond shunt period • In addition to granting access, cards control whether system will disarm along with granting access • Door strike can release automatically during disarmed periods, then automatically reaock when area is armed • Door can generate an alarm, trouble, (or have no response) depending on area's armed condition when door is opened outside authorized access period • REQUEST TO ENTER and REQUEST TO EXIT can be programmed to shunt door without activating strike • An option determines whether access granted, no entry, request to enter, or request to exit messages are sent to event log Specifications General Contractor shall furnish and install, where indicated on plans, a Radionics 90DO Series Control/Communicator. A5137 111 $ 1800 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA 93901 L986 PIN 4040713 Photoelectric Smoke and D285, D285TH Combined Smoke/Heat Heads Features • Designed for commercial or residential use • Two -wire or four -wire application, depending on base • Chamber CheckTM rapid -flash LED Automatic Trouble Indication reports contaminated chamber • Flashing LED power indicator • Steady -on LED alarm indicator • Modular Design • D285TH model incorporates a 135°F Heat Sensor Description These smoke detector heads are a part of two - component modular detectors, the second component being the detector base. The bases are permanently attached and wired to backboxes. The interchange -able heads quickly detach for replacement and cleaning without disturbing the circuit wiring. Head removal results in a trouble signal at the panel. The Radionics D285 photoelectric smoke detector head uses an LED light source and a silicon photo diode to measure light in a chamber. In normal conditions the light source is absorbed in the chamber. The presence of a significant number of particulates allows the light to reflect to the photo diode. Diode measurements exceeding the alarm threshold cause the unit to signal an alarm condition. The detection chamber, designed for reliable smoke entry characteristics, is protected by a micro -fine insect screen to reduce dust accumulation and minimize nuisance alarms. To further reduce nuisance alarms, the D285 and D285TH heads check their calibration. This Chamber CheckTM feature is automatic. If the head is out of calibration for a period exceeding 24 hours, the Trouble/Alarm LED flashes once per second, three times the Normal rate. These heads have an internal diagnostic test that is activated, by an external magnet. This test results in a specific LED and alarm circuit responses to indicate: • Head within calibration standards • Head settings exceed sensitivity standards • Head settings below sensitivity standards • Detector head not operational. This test is especially useful in environmentally unstable or clean areas. The D285TH is a D285 smoke detector head combined with a 135 - F heat sensor. These heads have a socket that accepts the D1005 test cable. The D1005 connects to the head and allows a voltmeter to read the sensitivity of the device. Application Smoke detectors, are intended for detection circuits that protect personnel. Heat detectors are appropriate for circuits that protect property. The D285 Photoelectric Smoke Detector is designed to detect the large smoke particles which typically result from wood, paper, and fabric combustion. The D285TH, which has an added fixed temperature sensor, expands the detector application to confined areas where a fire increases air temperature slowly and where there is a substantial increase in air temperature before the fire breaks confinement, such as furnace rooms, closets, and other confined areas. ®1996 Radiomics All tights remved 33434E 10196 CI CS` TMlbe Ra&onies logo is a tegislered uademark of Radionics, D285, D285TH Specifications 1900 Abbott Sueet, Salinas, CA 93901, USA Page 1 of 2 Installation These detector heads are a part of a compound device. The D298M Base requires a 3 k ohm EOL resistor to complete the circuit and provide supervision. The D298M base is a master that can control up to 19 slave devices, either D287 bases or D263 and 0263TH detectors. Note: the panel identifies slave devices by their master's address. The D298S and D298M can combine with the D299 Relay Module to provide to Form 'C' dry contact auxiliary outputs. Removal of the detector head from an active polling circuit initiates a trouble signal, but does not interrupt the circuit. Application These detector bases are used with smoke and smoke/heat detector heads, and with other devices, to provide early warning fire detection for life safety and property protection systems. Installation These detector bases are part of a two-piece modular design smoke or smoke/heat detector assembly. They install over single gang or 3 in. or 4 in. octagonal or square backboxes. An adapter plate is packaged with the bases. The permanently -installed base provides 'in and out" connection points for the detection circuit No tools are required for installation of the detector heads other than the hex key used to tighten the optional tamper screw. ®1999 Radionics, Inc. This unique, patented technology meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements without the need for external meters. Additional diagnostic information is activated by applying a magnet near the detector's integral reed switch. This initiates a self-diagnostic routine and provides visual indication of sensitivity level, or if service is required. This series is easily cleaned by simply replac- ing ESL's proprietary field -replaceable optical chamber. All models are designed to reduce false alarms from dust, insects, RFI, and external light. An integral combination rate -of -rise and fixed 135°F (57C), 50 -foot rated, heat sensor is avail- able with all "T" model detectors (see selection guide), allowing latching of the alarm for either smoke or heat. The 449CSRH includes an isolated alarm output for heat and activates an internal non -latching sounder (local alarm) for smoke, making it ideal for motel/hotel and dormitory rooms where smoking is permitted. continued ESL 449 Series Smoke Detectors Architectural and Engineering Specifications The ESL 449 Series low -profile, self-diagnostic, four -wire smoke detectors work on the light scattering principle. A pulsed infrared light -emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed photodiode as the sensing element. When the amount of light reflected onto the photodiode reaches the sensitivity setting, the smoke sampling rate increases. Three (3) successive smoke sensings above the sensitivity setting are required to sound an alarm. This design has superior protection against false alarms caused by dust, insects, RF and ambient -light. A confirmed alarm causes the normally flashing power indicator LED to light continuously and the alarm relay to operate. A trouble indication is automatically displayed by flashing the LED every second. This meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements. The AL802UL-ADA may be connected to any 12 or 24 volt Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). Primary applications include Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) expansion (supports ADA requirements) and will provide auxiliary power to support system accessories. The unit delivers regulated and filtered 24 or 12 volt power via four (4) Class B, two (2) Class A or two (2) Class B and one (1) Class A Notification Appliance Circuits. Additionally, a separate 50mA auxiliary output with reset for four (4) -wire smoke detectors. The 8 amps rated supply current can be divided between the four (4) outputs for powering notification appliances. Each output is rated at 2 amps max., and can be independently programmed for Steady, Temporal Code 3 or Strobe Synchronization. All outputs may be programmed for Input to Output Follower Mode (output will follow input. i.e. March Time Input, March Time Output). An individual output of 4 amps is achieved by paralleling 2 outputs. The AL802UL-ADA in non -alarm condition provides independent loop supervision for Class A and/or Class B FACP NAC circuits. In the event of a loop trouble the FACP will be notified via the AL802UL-ADA's steered input (input 1 or input 2). In addition, there are common trouble output terminals (NC, C, NO) which are used to indicate general loop/system trouble. A common trouble input is provided for optional NC (normally closed) devices to report trouble to the FACP. Two (2) FACP signaling outputs can be connected to A1,802UL-ADA's inputs. These inputs can then be directed to control supervision and power delivery to any combination of the four (4) outputs. FEATURES • Provide secondary power for control panels. • Gelled electrolyte. • Sealed and maintenance -free. • Overcharge protected. • Extended shelf life. • Easy handling with leakproof construction. • Ruggedly constructed, high -impact ABS plastic case. • Long service life. • Compact design. CAPACITY Battery capacity, expressed in ampere -hours (AH), is the product of a discharge current and the length of time that the current is dis- charged. Batteries are rated according to their performance during 20 hours of discharge at a constant current. The rated capacity of a battery is determined by subjecting it to a constant discharge current for 20 hours at 68°F (20°C). After 20 hours the voltage across the terminals is measured. The discharge current which causes a reading of 1.72 volts per cell (5.16 V on a 6 V battery and 10.32 V on a 12 V battery) is called the rated current. This current multiplied by 20 is the rated capacity of the battery. APPLICATIONS Use the PS Series batteries to provide backup power for control panels. Select batteries based on current requirements for your system and the capacity of its charger. These batteries can be used over a temperature range of -76•F to +140'F (-60°C to +60'C). CONSTRUCTION E-200 PS Series Batteries The sealed construction of the Power -Sonic battery allows trouble- free, safe operation in any position. There is no need to add elec- trolyte, as gases generated during overcharge are recombined in a unique "Oxygen Cycle." The battery is sealed, leakproof, and main- tenance -free. The case is made of ABS, a high -impact plastic resin (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) with high resistance to chemicals and flammability. INSTALLATION All panels have space reserved for batteries. See the appropriate panel installation manual for battery size restrictions.
