The application has been reviewed, and it has been determined that the following infonmation will be required in order to further review and issue the application: a. The area calculations for the individual Albertsons, Albertsons logo, and Starbucks components of the sign need to be provided. Under these circumstances, the area of the sign casing or cabinet is applicable. b. A scaled site plan delineating setbacks from roads, property lines, and other site plan features must be provided. C. Information must be provided indicating how the proposed sign(s) will integrate with the proposed landscaping must also be provided. Although requested to, Albertsons chose not to provide a signage plan earlier in the review process, making the above information particularly important. If you should have any questions, you may feel free to contact me or Pat Conroy at this office. z nssonent Managcr tzl DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Planer) Jim Svensson Jsvensson@c1.bremerton.wa.us October 10, 2002 Hanson Sign Co. The Sign locations are at the north west and south east corners of the Albertsons site, which is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Wheaton Way and Sheridan Road. You were sent a letter on October 7, 2002 in which additional information was requested relative to these signs. I have just received a copy of the final Landscaping Plan from T. Shawn Parsons, Landscape Architect for the project. Mr. Parsons has requested approval of some minor modifications to the formally approved landscaping plan. That plan indicates that monument signs, not pylon signs, will be placed at those locations. I consider that Landscaping Plan to be the approved plan for the project, the plan that the project was conditioned upon, and I also recall having a conversation with Don Barker of Albertsons during which he indicated that a preference would be given to monument signs. In light of the conflict between the signage that you have applied for and the approved plans, I want to advise you that we will not be able to approve the pylon signs that have been requested. If you should have any questions, feel free to contact me. j e ly, es Svensson velopment Manager CC: T. I somehow managed to interpret the extensive foundation as being indicative of a pole, thereby concluding that pylon signs were being proposed. The signs appear to be consistent with the approved project plan and landscaping plan, although we will need the calculations addressed in the October 7, 2002 letter.
