Upon several exploration tests performed by geo tech firm and civil engineer hired by Albertsons it was determined that the soil around the vault was not compacted properly and was the result of original calculations being incorrect. All areas disturbed have been replaced to specifications provided on plans for store site construction. The only exception is final grade elevations were modified in order to allow for drainage. This had to be done to match grade undisturbed that had settled. Elevations used were off by several inches in several places. The vault was exposed on all sides down to the bottom of the footing for the vault. Catch basins 15, 16, 17, (ref page C 2.0) were removed along with associated pipe. Material removed was determined to be to wet and was unsuitable for re use. Material was removed from site. Back fill around vault on East side (store side) consist of six feet of 11/4" CSBC WA DOT approved. Compacted in 1 foot or less, lifts to 90% compaction or better. (See compaction reports from Krazan) From the six foot level material imported from school site on Perry ave was used. This material was used up to the -3 foot level on the east side. The remainders of areas around vault were back filled with 2' of 11/4" crushed From there 2" minus crushed was placed in compacted layers. The top three feet, 11/4" crushed was used and compacted to 95% or better. The area located southwest of vault that had subsided along a trench line was exposed and dug down two feet. 11/4" crushed was placed and compacted in three lifts. Catch basins removed, were reused and placed per drawings. 230 feet of line 17, 16, 15, were replaced and first 12' line 7 was replaced. Lines entering the vault were jet set in place. Electrical lines along south side of vault were replaced along with conduit. Irrigation lines and control wiring disturbed were replaced. Planters islands two on east side and one to north were removed. Planter islands were re placed per drawings C 8.0. 110 `of concrete side walk on south side was removed and replaced per C 8.0. Curb and gutter removed along south side was replaced per C 8.0. 3" of asphalt per C8.0 was placed. Striping was replaced per C8.0, C8.1, and C8.2. Plants removed and stored were replaced. Plants that did not survive were replaced.
