The display greets all passengers coming and leaving Bremerton aboard the car carrying ferries and the hydrofoil passenger only. ferries bound to and from Seattle, in addition to smaller passenger only ferries coming from and going to South Kitsap County. The USS Turner Joy is also open for tours and part ofthe Naval display at this park. Thousands of residents and tourists visit this park on a daily basis all year round. The total package grouping makes an outstanding display and relaxing park setting to watch Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Port ofBremerton and various other City activities. The ship's propeller has been completely engraved, showing areas of history regarding the P.S.N.S and Kitsap County. During 1997, the propeller was vandalized and the engraved hub was stolen. Despite attempts to locate it, the hub was never recovered. During 2000, a replacement engraved hub was ordered and installed on the propeller. The hub was welded to the propeller to prevent further agts of vandalism.
