MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
BREMERTON MUNICIPAL COURT AND BREMERTON POLICE
Whereas, the City Council has approved hiring a full-time Electronic Home
Monitoring Coordinator effective 1/1/99;
Whereas, the Police Department has funds available in their budget for Care and
Custody of Prisoners to fund this position;
Whereas, the Municipal Court, through the Court Services Manager, will direct
the Electronic Home Monitoring program but does not have staff available to perform the
function in the absence of the Coordinator;
Now therefore, the parties agree as follows:
1. The Bremerton Municipal Court will hire, manage and direct the Electronic Home
Monitoring Program and employee(s).
2. The Bremerton Police Department will manage the program budget.
3. The Bremerton Police Department will agree to provide back up in the event the
Electronic Home Monitoring Coordinator is unavailable due to vacation, illness,
disability or other cause as follows:
a. Respond to emergency situations such as allegations of new crimes or
suspected violations of conditions or curfew.
b. Become familiar with the equipment to enable him/her to hook up
offenders and troubleshoot defective units if necessary.
