Environmenta~' Impact ~ the Proposed Action The site on whiell the 76 dwelling units are proposed to be located is one which had previously been ~sed for temporary residenti~l, structures during World War II. These structures have since beeT}. r~mbvedhowever, some of the old foundations, streets ~nd sid~wa~k~, ar:e still remaining. The site which was once cleared is now over;- grgwnwith Alders, Scotchbloom and other weedy type of vegetation. , ,',' ., ~, , , .. 'I'; . ' ' ,:".;. lhe,~:soils of the si te are classified as Alderwood and have only ,', . ,slight to moderate hazards for residential dwellings. The relatively 'S,teel) slope which runs approximately through the center of the property indicates only a slight hazard for slippape. rurthermore~ no dwelling units are proposed to be built, on this slope. 'f The land use restrictions which accompany this project limit the height of the dwelling structure and therefore do not interfere with the vie~ from adjoining properties. The character of the dwellings proposed to be constructed on the site are compatible with the single family, duplex and multiple family ,structures w~ich are now located in the surrounding area. 2.
