Chance Berthiaume, Utility Manager, was appointed by the Mayor as the Provisional Director of
Public Works and Utilities on June 19, 2025. City Council approved extension of his provisional
appointment on October 15, 2025 to February 14, 2026.
The City has contracted with Prothman services to recruit and fill the Director of Public Works &
Utility position. Currently, final interviews are scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026 where it is
anticipated that a final candidate will be identified to permanently fill the position.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve Chance Berthiaume as Provisional Public Works and Utilities Director from
February 14, 2026 until the City Council confirms the appointment of a Public Works and Utilities
Director or June 3, 2026, whichever is earlier.
