SUMMARY:Pursuant to RCW 41.56, negotiations have concluded between representatives of the
City and the Teamsters (Police Lieutenants and Captains) Local 589resulting in the attached
Collective Bargaining Agreement for January 1, 2024through December 31, 2028.The agreement
includes a 4.6% cost of living adjustment and an 8.4% market adjustment for 2024, a 4% cost of living
adjustment for 2025, a 3.5% cost of living adjustment for 2026, and a cost-of-living increase based on
the Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue CPI-W June to June Minimum2% -Maximum4% for 2027 and 2028.
The Collective Bargaining Agreement has been ratified by the Teamstersmembership. Council
approval is required to implement this agreement.
ATTACHMENTS:Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bremerton and the
Teamsters (Police Lieutenants and Captains) Local 589January 1, 2024 through December 31,
2028.
FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount): The projected additional cost of implementing this
five-year Collective Bargaining Agreement is approximately $235,000 for 2024 and 2025.
STUDY SESSION ACTION:Consent Agenda General Business Public Hearing
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bremerton and the
Teamsters (Police Lieutenants and Captains) Local 589for 2024through 2028,andauthorize the
Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as
presented.
COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Deny Table Continue No Action
