SUMMARY:The City would like toapprove and adopt Resolution No. 3408updating the Indigent
defense services standards, updatingthe proposed 2026 Municipal Court Budgetfor Public Defense
Services and awarding the 2026 Public Defense Services agreement to Yelish, Barker &
Cunningham, PLLC.
ATTACHMENTS:Resolution No. 3408and 2026 Public Defense Services Agreement
FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount):Requested amount $596,420 for prime public
defense services. This is an increase of $146,420 over the previously budgeted amount of $450,000.
STUDY SESSION ACTION:Consent Agenda General Business Public Hearing
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to adopt Resolution No.3408approving the update to the Public Defense Standards and
authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the award of the Public Defense Services Agreement to
Yelish, Barker & Cunningham, PLLCwith substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Deny Table Continue No Action
