The Water District was formed in September, 1946, serving its customers through one and two inch water mains. Con~encing February 14, 1947, the Water District has purchased all its water from the City of Bremerton, and the City is the Water District's only source of supply. The Water District currently has 98 customers, with space for only three additional single family residential hook-ups. The Water District's one and two inch mains are failing. The Water District has arranged to replace them at an approx- imate cost of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars, funded through Water Revenue Bonds. The first issue will be for a term of five years, with interest at only Eight Percent (8%) per annum to be paid through the date of maturity. During this five years, the Water District will search for alternate long-term financing. This will prob- ably involve grants, and/or issuance of 20-year Revenue Bonds. To issue Revenue Bonds, the Water District must show it has a source of supply during the duration of debt financing. To this end, the Water District wishes to enter into a supply contract with the City of Bremerton. The City is anxious to assist the Water District with debt financing for the main replacement project, because the City may one day assume control of the Water District's system. The City wishes to insure that, if this happens, the Water District will have an up-to-date capital facility. The parties, therefore, agree: The City of Bremerton agrees to supply to the Jensen Addition Water District the amount of water needed to service all of its customers per month during the duration of the Jensen Addition Water District's financing for the Water District's current water main replacement project to the greatest extent possible without detriment to the City's existing obligations to provide water service. The period of supply shall commence November 1, 1980, and shall not exceed 25 years. The Water District agrees to pay for water supplied at whatever rate the City may from time to time set for service to customers outside the Bremerton City limits. DATED this /~--day of /~ , 1980.
