CB27 Conflict with Modified Curb sheets 38, 40 & 88
Plan sheet 38 & 40 depict CB27 being installed into a portion of the modified curb. The back of the
grate for CB27 would be at the face of the curb, which would put the frame, including the flange,
and the CB into the modified curb approximately .33' - .5'. Also, CB27 is deeper than the 1' of
space between finish grade and the top of the footing for the modified curb. Please advise how the
modified curb and footing are built around this structure.

A forthcoming revision to Plan Sheets 37 (CB 29), 38 (CB 27), and 40 (CB 27 Profile) will be
provided to show relocation of CB 27 and CB 29 in order to eliminate overlap of structures at the
proposed modified curb. The proposed (revised) CB station and offsets are as follows:
CB 27 - WA 20+30.82, 30.60’ LT
CB 29 - WA 18+03.98, 34.98’ LT
Per verbal discussions, relocation of the CB's noted above away from the wall will require
installation of an asphalt wedge curb (at each relocated CB) during paving operations in order to
direct storm water flow.

Modifications associated with minor adjustment of median island nose geometry at the intersection of 11th Street and Pleasant Ave. The engineer has provided associatedrevisions on Plan Sheet 25 (Traffic Islands) and Plan Sheet 75 (Pavement Marking Plan). Modifications associated with minor shifting of the Rectangular Rapid FlashingBeacon (RRFB) at the northeast corner of the roundabout in order to provide an acceptable push button reach distance from the proposed curb ramp. The engineer hasprovided associated revisions on Plan Sheet 55 (Curb Ramp), Plan Sheet 58 (Illumination / Electrical), Plan Sheet 64 (RRFB), and Plan Sheet 77 (Pavement Marking).
The changes provided under this WCD do not include significant alternation of estimated quantities, bid items, or scope of work in accordance with 1-04.4 (Changes).Minor additional survey costs associated with the changes included in this WCD, as attached, for DBE subcontractor O’Bunco Engineering Inc will be processed through aformal change order requiring WSDOT concurrence in accordance with special provision 1-07.11 (Requirements for Nondiscrimination) and will include allowablesubcontractor markup.
