SUMMARY: Lift station EB-2 has three high-flow pumps that need to be replaced due to age and
condition. Service at this location has been especially harsh given saltwater intrusion into the
wetwell (since corrected), coupled with intermittent submersion of the pumps that combined to
degrade the pump casings to the point that they are no longer reliable. The Flowserve pumps are
being sole sourced to avoid high-cost modifications to the wetwell that would be necessary if a
different brand of pumps were installed. Staff received a quote from APSCO, LLC for three new,
direct replacement pumps in the amount of $277,026 including applicable tax and freight.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): An increase to the Wastewater Capital Budget is
required since this purchase was not included in the 2022 budget. Sufficient funds are available in
the Wastewater Capital Fund 454.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a $280,000 increase to the 2022 Wastewater Capital
Budget, and approve the Goods & Services Agreement with APSCO, LLC for three Flowserve
Pumps in the amount of $277,026 including sales tax, and authorize the Mayor to finalize and
execute with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
