Purchase Description:
The purchase of 1 Mobile ALPR camera would support the Bremerton Police Department auto
theft reduction response. BPD's current ALPR camera software is no longer supported, and the
equipment is beyond its useful life. The WATPA Board opened their grant funding application
for auto theft prevention April 1st, 2021 and the City of Bremerton has received notification
that they will be a recipient of this grant funding. Staff received four quotes for this purchase
from: Motorola Solutions, Elsag, and PIPs Technology. Motorola Solutions submitted the
lowest bid with their RHD Mobile system at $24,279.75 including 5-year warranty, system
setup, freight, and sales tax.
Fiscal Impact The work is fully funded in the BPD budget supported by the award of a WATPA
grant in the amount of $22,000, the remaining $2,279.75 will be supplemented by BPD’s
approved budget.
Action Requested: Review and signature and e-mail back to Barbara Forbes. This contract is
being routed electronically only.
