SUMMARY:$76,670 is available to Bremerton through the EECBG which provides funds for
implementing strategies to reduce energy use, to reduce fossil fuel emissions, and to improve energy
efficiency. To reduce the grant administration burden of this federal grantthe City proposes to utilize
the funds through a voucher rebate option toward the purchase of one(1) Hybrid Ford Explorer
Police Interceptor vehicle and four (4) Recon Power Bikes for the Police Department. The new
police vehicle will replace a patrol vehicle that is scheduled for replacement in 2025. The grant will
cover the base cost of the vehicle but not the specialized outfitting costs for patrol vehicles.

FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount): The patrol vehicle is in the 2025 budget and the
e-bikes are within the Police Departments budget authority.
STUDY SESSION ACTION:Consent Agenda General Business Public Hearing
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to accept the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant(EECBG) from the Department
of Energy and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same
terms and conditions as presented.
