SUMMARY:
In 2022 Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and the City of Bremerton entered intoan agreement for PSE to
convertstreetlights to LED lighting for the entire City. The project was broken into fifteen phases and
originally planned to take up to fifteenyears to complete. Due to a changein the Tariffagreement
with PSE the costshave dramatically reduced.
Thisgrant agreement isfor Phase onewhich was completedin late 2023. The invoicefrom PSE for
the project in phase onewas $15,023.47.The grant will pay $11,725foranetcost to the City of
$3,298.53for 84 lights or a cost of $39.27 per light, which ismuch less than the assumed cost of
$143/light. Due to the reduced cost per lightthepayback timeline is reduced significantlyas
presented in the attached program cost summary.
Phasestwo, three and four are expected to be completed in 2024.

FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount): City of Bremerton funded amount is $70,000 per
yearfrom the Trans Cap funds that have been set aside for the project. Phase one was completed for
$15,023.47and the grant will reimburse $11,725 for a netcost of $3,298.53.
