YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties 4717 S 19th Street, #201 Tacoma, WA 98405 Re: Renewal of Concession Agreement
Dear Jemima: As you know, I represent the City of Bremerton (“City”). The primary purpose of this letter is to acknowledge receipt of the YMCA’s intent to exercise its option to renew (both Recreation Area
and Pool) as stated in your letter dated November 17, 2023. This is the first of five (5) potential one-year periods of renewal, and thereby extends the term to run from April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025. The City accepts this notice as sufficient, timely, and a proper exercise of the YMCA’s renewal option.
I would like to further clarify that this is an exercise of the option for renewal per Article 2.2.1 of the Concession and Management Agreement. The City is not agreeing to any new or modified terms, and the proposed Seventh Amendment to codify the extension will not be executed. The only adjustment to the Agreement aside from the new term will be a modification of the Concession Fee, as adjusted by annual CPI pursuant to Article 3.1 of the Agreement.
In addition to the renewal, I wanted to provide some updates regarding the aquatic center building per our conversation on November 21, 2023. Regarding the roof leak repair, the City has had contractors examine the roof and provide a
proposal for the repair of the leaking areas. The contractor has been selected and given notice to proceed with the repair. That said, the contractor has informed the City that the repair will be completed when the weather allows. The City’s hope is that the repair will be completed as soon as possible.
Regarding the aquatic center building assessment, the City was awarded a grant from the Department of Commerce to complete a building assessment on the aquatic center building to include a structural, seismic, mechanical, and roof evaluation. This grant will not fund the replacement or repair of any identified issues, but rather provide an assessment and estimates for

the work. Per the City’s procurement requirements, we are issuing a Request for Qualifications for the selection of a consultant to perform this assessment and hope to have an executed contract with
the consultant by the end of the year.
