Box 379 Bremerton, Washington 98310 February 26, 1973 Bremerton City Council City of Bremerton 239 - 4th Street Bremerton, Washington 98310 Attention: Mr. Fred Schoneman Commissioner of Public Works Gentlemen: This is in response to the City of Bremerton's inquiry as to the possibility of Puget Power taking over the City's newly acquired ornamental street lighting systems on the Warren Avenue and Manette Street bridges. These systems include a total of 94 - 20,000 lumen and 4 - 7,000 lumen street lighting units and appurtenances. A good portion of the equipment on these systems does not meet Puget's existing street lighting specifications which will cause some main- tenance hardship as to labor and acquiring compatible equipment. How- ever, in view of the following advantages to the City, Puget will purchase for One Dollar ($1.00) the said street lighting systems. 1. The City would be relieved of all maintenance responsibility on the ornamental system. 2. Faster service could be provided with single rather than dual maintenance responsibility. 3. All of the mercury vapor street lighting units in the City would be billed and maintained on the same basis. Based on Schedule 51 under our existing blanket street lighting contract with the City, the monthly service charge for each 20,000 lumen lighting unit would be $4.15 and for each 7,000 lumen lighting unit, the monthly service charge would be $2.75. If this meets with your approval, please execute the attached Bill of Sale, together with the enclosed easement for operational rights. Sincerely, E. A.
