SUMMARY:The current provisions of Section 9A.32.140 of the Bremerton Municipal Code relating
to Cyberstalking are no longer in compliance with legal requirements. Additionally, there are various
sections of RCW 9A.90(the Washington Cybercrime Act) that are classified as gross misdemeanor
crimes. The City Council desires to update or revise provisions relating to cyberstalking in order to
bring Chapter 9A.32 of the Bremerton Municipal Code into compliance with updated state laws, as
well as adopt the gross misdemeanor crimes and definitions contained within RCW 9A.90.
