Change Order No. 2 to Contract with Active
Construction, Inc. for Oyster Bay Beach
Sewer Upgrades Project

SUMMARY:
Change Order No. 2 will pay for a portion of additional costs associated with disconnecting beach
sewer laterals as described in Work Change Directive No. 28, and an additional duplex pumping
system including landscape restoration at 4412 Kitsap Way as described in Work Change Directive
No. 23. The work directed under these Work Change Directives was necessary due to field
conditions discovered late during construction. It was necessary to expedite this work to minimize
concerns over potential sanitary sewer overflows. This Change Order No. 2 for $82,154.18 will
increase the contract amount to $6,506,708.77.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The project is funded by a Department of Ecology
State Revolving Fund loan and is included in the wastewater budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve Change Order No. 2 with Active Construction, Inc., in the amount of $82,154.18 for
the Oyster Bay Beach Sewer Upgrades project and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
