SUMMARY:
In March 2021, the City accepted a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant through
WSDOTto design and construct rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) with associated ADA
curb ramp upgrades at eight select locations city wide.The City advertised a Request for Proposals
and received proposals from three qualified design firms. Three firms were interviewed, and DKS
Associates Inc was selected to perform the design.The agreement includes engineering and design,
environmental permitting,real estate services for right-of-way acquisition, and bid and construction
engineering support services. The Professional Services Agreement is a WSDOT standard
agreement with its standard terms and conditions. The contract amount is $220,049.25.
