SUMMARY:The Bremerton Police Department is applying for the local solicitation of the Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). Since 2010, funding has been used to help fund
the salary for the position of the Community Resource Specialist. The grantwill allow the City to
continue the Community Resource Unit and its crime prevention function and programs. The grant is
from the Department of Justice. No matching funds are required of the City. Bremerton PD will
request $15,979 from the DOJ.
