SUMMARY:
Public Works has been unable to recruit for avacant Engineering Project Manager position since
November 2021. During review of pay it was identified thatminimal (10.9%) separation exists
between the Unionand Managementengineer positions; however, a separation of 16% exists
between the Managing Engineers and the City Engineer. Staff believe a one-pay band increase for
the Engineering Project Managers from Band 15 to Band 16 and for the Managing Engineers from
Band 17 to Band 18 will help with recruiting and retention and will not create a compression problem
between the Managing Engineers and the City Engineer.

Fund is not required.
