Pine Road Basin Projects
SUMMARY:
Materials testing is needed for two projects:Price Road and Brentwood Drive Culvert Replacements
(awarded to Active Construction, Inc. on April 7, 2022 for $2,498,498.00); and the Pine Road Basin
Project (currently out for bids with contract award on June 2, 2022). Both projects will require the
following services, at a minimum: subgrade analysis and compaction testing; rebar inspection; CSTC
compaction testing; HMA aggregate testing and mix design; asphalt nuclear density testing; and
asphalt coring testing.
ARequest for Proposals was sent to four firms on the MRSC Consultant Roster. A single proposal
was received for $41,685.00 from Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc. (MTC).

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to award the contract for materials testing for the Price/Brentwood and Pine Road projectswith
Materials Testing & Consulting, Inc.for $41,685.00; and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute
the agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
