SUMMARY:
The project will install approximately1900 linear feet of 12-inch PVC force main and approximately
330 linear feet of 15-inch PVC gravity sewer next to the existing force main. A portion of the existing
main will remain online, providing some redundancy within the system. The remainder of the existing
piping will be taken off-line and abandoned in-place. Three new air relief valves will also be installed.
Ten (10)bids were submitted, which were opened on February 24, 2022. The lowest responsive and
responsible bid was from Pape & Sons Construction, Inc.in the amount of $892,511.62, including
sales tax.

FISCAL IMPACTS(Include Budgeted Amount):
This is an emergent project which was not included in the 2022 Capital Improvement Plan. The
project requires a budget of $1,100,000 to be allocated from the Wastewater Fund.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to amend the Wastewater Capital Budget to add$1,100,000 for the Oyster Bay Avenue Force
Main Project and award the construction contractto Pape & Sons Construction, Inc.in the amount of
$892,511.62, including sales tax, and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with
substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
