SUMMARY: Pursuant to BMC 2.05.020, no provisional appointments) to a non -civil service
department director's position shall extend beyond one hundred twenty (120) days from the date of
original appointment without the consent of the City Council. The Mayor is requesting consent of the
City Council to extend the current Chief of Police provisional appointment until such time as City is
able run an external recruitment and make a regular appointment.
