HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/07/2021 4IAGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Confirm Appointment of Mike Study Session Date: March 24, 2021 Huey to the Lodging Tax Advisory COUNCIL MEETING Date: April 7, 2021 Committee Department: Executive Presenter: Mayor Wheeler Phone: (360) 473-5266 SUMMARY: RCW 67.28 and BMC Chapter 2.38 outline membership requirements for the Lodging Fax Advisory Committee as follows: two (2) members from organizations that support activities which are authorized to be funded by hotel -motel tax revenue; two (2) members from businesses that collect the hotel -motel tax; and an elected official (Council Member). Due to a vacancy, the Mayor is seeking confirmation for the appointment of Mike Huey, Washington State Science & Engineering Fair (WSSEF) to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. The appointment of Mr. Huey relates to a committee position for organizations that are eligible for funding which also operate and promote tourism within Bremerton; and is for a 3-year term expiring on April 6, 2024.
