SUMMARY: In the passing of the 2021 Budget the City Council Authorized a $100,000 expenditure
from the State Shared Affordable Housing Sales Tax. Authorized by House Bill 1406, this allows the
city to collect a sales tax to support rental assistance programs for households earning below 60%
Area Median Income.

Professional Services Agreement including Exhibits A, B and C
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): $100,000 from the General Fund for Rental
Assistance for City of Bremerton Residents, with approximately $75,000 of the funds being covered
by Affordable Housing Sales Tax.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Professional Services Agreement and Scope of Work for Citywide Rental
Assistance Program with Bremerton Housing Authority in the amount of $100,000; and authorize the
Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as
presented.
