Re: 2021 Rate Adjustment
Please find the enclosed 2021 rate schedule for solid waste and recycling services provided by
Waste Management to the residents and businesses of the City of Bremerton.
These rates are based upon the current contract between the City a nd Waste Management. Section
9.3 of the contract stipulates the rates shall be adjusted by 100% of the annual percent change in
the Consumer Price Index ("CPI") - for All Urban Consumers: Water and sewer and tra sh collection
services (“CPI”) (Series CUUR00 00SEHG), as published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics covering a
period of August to August. The CPI adjustment in any given year shall not be less than zero or
more than 8%. This year’s index was 253.974 up from 245.549 from last year resulting in an
increase of 3.431%. Please review this schedule and let me know of any discrepancies.
Waste Management looks forward to providing quality waste and recycling services to the City of
Bremerton in the year ahead.
