HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/15/2020 4E AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL 4E SUBJECT: Recreation & Conservation Study Session Date: N/A Office (RCO) Funding Board Project COUNCIL MEETING Date: April 15, 2020 Agreement for the Kitsap Lake Park Boat Department: Parks & Recreation Launch Replacement Project Presenter: Jeff Elevado Phone: (360)473-5428 SUMMARY: The attached Funding Board Project [Grant] Agreement will provide $556,200 to assist in the replacement of the existing boat launch and dock at Kitsap Lake Park that have outlived their useful life and are deteriorating rapidly. This grant will be used to replace the boat launch with a new, wider concrete ramp with side shoring and a boarding float with new concrete abutment and ADA compliant pathways. This project also includes upgrades to the existing restroom with a new roof, outdoor shower and accessible fixtures, construction of an accessible boat trailer parking stall, and accessible pathways linking the parking lot, boat launch and restroom. This project has been shaped directly by community involvement through meetings with stakeholders and public meetings conducted by the Bremerton Parks & Recreation Commission. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Recreation & Conservation Office (RCO) Funding Board Project Agreement (18-2567D); and 2) Kitsap Lake Park Design Concept FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The total project estimate is $743,900 comprised of$556,200 RCO Boating Facilities Program Grant, $50,000 Stormwater Utilities Fund, $25,000 Cash Donation, $6,500 Bremerton Park Foundation Grant, and $70,200 Parks Capital Construction Fund (REET). The remaining balance of$36,000 will be from in-kind/force account labor in the form of design, project administration and staff labor.
