This new technology allows Utility Billing staff to read, detect leaks, communicate with, shut-off and turn-on individual meters remotely. The system can also monitor and control other facilities such as street lights; however, that capability is not included in this initial contract and would require additional software. The Public Works Agreement includes three parts; purchase and installation of the equipment, set-up and integration of the software into the City's billing system, and a Software as a Service agreement. Further detail is included in the attached Council Summary.
