HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/20/2019 5G AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON 5G CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Study Session Date: November 13, 2019 Shoreline Master Program Periodic Update COUNCIL MEETING Date: November 20, 2019 to accept the Department of Ecology Grant; Department: DCD and the Professional Services Agreement Presenter: Allison Satter with The Watershed Company Phone: (360) 473-5845 SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton is required to update the Shoreline Master Program (SMP) every eight years per Chapter 90.58 of the RCW. The Department of Community Development has selected The Watershed Company to assist with the SMP Periodic Update. This consultant was selected following an extensive Request for Proposal process. The request for proposals was issued on August 12, 2019, was listed in the Daily Journal of Commerce on August 16, 2019 and the request was concluded on September 13, 2019. The City received three (3) proposals and interviewed those teams. The Consultant's focus will be providing a gap analysis on the SMP and associated critical area regulations, verifying best available science is being used, updating the existing Code, and assisting with the environmental review. To facilitate in this required update, Department of Ecology has awarded the City $22,400 to help fund this work. There is no match required. ATTACHMENTS: 1.
