Unfortunately, due to the large number of Bremerton area hotels, attractions, events, non-profit groups, and businesses that enjoy free membership, as well as access to free VKP tourism marketing programs, the fund amount recommended by the Bremerton Lodging Tax Committee is not sufficient to cover the cost to provide year-round tourism marketing services to the City of Bremerton in 2020. After careful review the VKP determined the financially prudent course of action is to withdraw its application request for lodging tax funds from the City of Bremerton for 2020 and conclude tourism marketing services at the end of its lodging tax contract on December 31, 2019. While the VKP is disappointed it will not have the opportunity to support Bremerton’s tourism stakeholders and industry in 2020, it does wish to thank the City Council for past lodging tax fund allocations.
