SUMMARY: In March of 2018 the City Council authorized the Mayor to sign a Local Agency
Participation Agreement with WSDOT to install radar for the side streets on Burwell Street as part of
the WSDOT SR 304 (Burwell) Overlay Project. The original agreement was for a not to exceed
amount of$66,201.44. The final costs of the project will be $97,136.00. The requested action is
approval of the additional costs for installation of radar under the WSDOT SR 304 (Burwell) Overlay
Project.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This project is budgeted in the 2019
Transportation Capital Project Fund in the amount of$150,000.00. The contract is not to exceed
$97,136.00.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Local Agency Participating Agreement Amendment No. 1 with WSDOT for the
additional costs for the radar installation as part of the SR 304 (Burwell Street) Overlay Project; and
authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the agreement with substantially the same terms and
conditions as presented.
