SUMMARY: We currently purchase replacement volutes and impellers for the two ABS Pumps at
CE -1 from the manufacturer vendor, Pump Tech Inc.
These replacement impellers and volutes last on average two years, due to rocks and sand. Staff
requested a quote from Pump Tech Inc. for hardened (250-300 BHC) impellers and volutes, which
will increase the life of the impellers and volutes 8-10 years, on average.
The cost of the hardened impellers and volutes are more than double for the first set due to patterns
and castings cost. From that point the cost drop significantly, and we pay the same price as standard
impellers and volutes.
The total to outfit both ABS pumps at CE -1 with hardened impellers and volutes is 565,532.98

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This purchase is budgeted through the WWTP
Operating Supplies budget of $575,000.00.
