It is an all-inclusive solution that provides software, storage, replication, and support for both physical and virtual backups. The City of Bremerton's is data will be protected on a local appliance while Barracuda replication technology allows that data to be securely transmitted and stored within the Barracuda Cloud Storage Service on a remote Barracuda Backup server. This purchase agreement, totaling $62,200.00 (plus tax) is for the purchase of the local Barracuda 790 Backup Appliance with 5 years of support ("Instant Replacement" and "Energizer Updates") service and 5 years of "Unlimited Cloud Storage" service. This agreement will replace the current Barracuda Backup 690 appliance that is 5 years old and has reached its storage capacity. The agreement will also renew the support agreements and Cloud Storage agreements that are already in place. The purchase of the Barracuda Backup Server services and products was done by direct negotiation pursuant to BMC 2.76.090, as a bid was not practicable or in the City's best interests. The City has used Barracuda products and services for many years and is currently using this particular backup service. IT is committed to Barracuda for the near future based on performance to date. The Trebron Company has negotiated a better price from Barracuda than the City could obtain by direct purchase from Barracuda. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Purchase Agreement with Trebron Company, Inc. for the purchase of a Barracuda Backup appliance, 5 years support and 5 years Unlimited Cloud storage service 2) Sole source justification FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The total anticipated cost of this project is $62,200.00 plus tax over 5 years. The Trebron purchase agreement will amortize the project cost over 5 years with no debt service. The first year payment in the amount of $12,440.00 plus tax is included in the Information Technology 2018 budget. The second and subsequent payments, in the amount of $12,440.00 plus tax. each will be budgeted in subsequent years.
