(Contractor) (Address) (Stale) (Zip Code) (Address) )City) (State) (Zip Code) The Roofing/ Waterproofing That Comes in a Roll Brai is a polyester matting impregnated on both sides with a modified bitumen com- pound. The Brai membrane has a high degree of puncture resistance, tensile strength, elasticity, bondability, high temperature resistance, cold weather flexibility, resist- ance to oxidation and seam integrity. Brai is also "climatized" for ease of application. EQUIPMENT: Only a torch, gloves, knife, and trowel are needed to apply Brai membrane. You can eliminate smokey kettles, large labor requirements, elaborate equipment, and messy applications required for conven- tional built-up roof systems. APPLICATION: Because of the simple equipment required and the easy application, Brai can reduce the cost of contract Iabor. Two workmen can install as much as 3,000 square feet of Brai membrane in eight hours. Brai membrane also eliminates application error, a major cause of roof failure in conventional BUR. Because of the high degree of reliability and smooth surface (when coat- ing is used), Brai membrane can cut the cost of mainte- nance and inspection. SEAMS: Brai seams are heat -welded (no chemical adhe- sives, sealants or tapes are used) to insure a super -strong seam. When Brai seams are heat -welded, the two pieces of Brai membrane are fused together to form one strong unit. This type of seam is much stronger than the "sand- wich" type that is formed with the adhesives, sealants or tapes. Therefore, the Brai heat -welded seam forms a sin- gle, continuous membrane which cannot separate like other single ply materials or conventional BUR systems. FLASHING: Because the Brai membrane has a high degree of elasticity, it is a superior material for flashings The high degree of flexibility of the Brai membrane insures that it can be formed to any shape. Because Brai mem- brane is heat -welded, a superior bond between Brai and any odd shape can be achieved. :- i PLANT: This 34,000 square -foot plant at Port Arthur, Texas is equipped with the most modern, automated equip- ment in the world. Production is geared to provide ample product output for quick delivery. Brai is available with polyester reinforcement in various thicknesses from 2mm to 5mm, as required by the contractor. WATERPROOFING: Among the ='x applications of the Brai system are waterproofing of water tanks, canals, foundations, patios and landfills. Brai's superior seam in- tegrity and its water absorption of less than 0.06% makes Brai an excellent material for any water- proofing need. Brai membrane can be bonded to primed metal, primed concrete, primed brick, etc. (QUALITY CONTROL: The U.S.I. laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art apparatus for testing each batch, to maximize product uniformity and consistency. The labora- tory staff includes highly trained technicians who maintain rigid quality control on all production. Raw materials are tested when received, and each batch is meticulously checked at each stage of the manufacturing process to assure uniformly high quality. Records of these tests are kept — a "Certificate of Pedigree" — for future reference as needed. Brai provides the following advantages: Easy to Apply: Because Brai is heat -welded it is easy to apply and eliminates application errors. Easy to inspect: When a coating is used as a surface covering on Brai membrane, any damaged areas are readily identified and repaired. No Pollution of Hot Kettles: When Brai membrane is used, there are no offensive fumes, smokey kettles, messy applications or risks of burns. Uniformity: Because of the rigid quality control and automated production, U.S. Intec, Inc. can achieve a high degree of uniformity in the Brai membrane. Any Slope: The superior seam integrity and bonding capabilities of Brai enable it to be used on any slope. Superior Characteristics: Brai membrane has a high degree of puncture resistance, tensile strength, elasticity, bonding capabilities, high temperature resistance, cold - weather flexibility, resistance to oxidation, wind -uplift and aging. Overlap Stripe: Eliminates the need for time-consuming alignments. PRODUCT FEATS Compound: Straight Bitumen & Th rmoplastic Resins Reinforcement: Non -Woven Polyester R. B. Applicators may be trained in our classroom or at job site. All Brai membrane is manufactured within customary industry tolerances ...The dimensions and specifications are average. FN CL E LONGITUDE ONE TWENTYO ENGINEERING & DESIGN PROJECT 313 E 29th St LL PROJECT NO. SHEET NO. :1 SUBJECT Foundation Stabilization/Jacking AM TAK DATE 08/08/2018 Scope/Objective: To determine the required pile spacing and geometry to stabilize and lift (where required) the existing structural foundation. These findings have been based upon the calculated strength of the existing foundation system and the current vertical loading from the existing structure above (based on as -built assessments). The Ram Jack West proposed pile layout can be found in the following pages with structural recommendations based upon the findings of L120 Engineering & Design. Note that cosmetic damages to rigid wall coverings/members and siding are expected during a foundation lift. Such cosmetic damages/cracks are to be repaired by others following the completion of the foundation stabilization and lifting and are not included in the structural scope presented here. It should be further noted that, per Ram Jack West, the stabilization effort will be limited to the perimeter support systems/continuous footings. The interior crawl -space support system for the first floor will be lifted with the use of some or all of the following: longer support posts, adjustable post -base hardware, and/or the addition of taller wood support members. Settlement in these interior support areas shall be monitored and further adjustments shall be made if necessary. Structural Summa - The foundation of the residence consists of continuous cast -in-place concrete footings. Below the cast -in-place concrete footings, piles are to be spaced at a distance no larger than 8'-0" on center at the locations indicated on the attached Level Survey. - End piles are to be placed as close to corners as possible and shall not exceed a maximum corner distance of 4'-0" as marked on the attached Level Survey. - A maximum allowable loading of 1,500 plf was utilized in this analysis. This was determined through inspection of building geometry and conservative span/tributary loading assumptions based on standard construction practices - The following load values represent the maximum expected pile loads for the indicated spacing. Ram Jack West to provide pile and equipment assemblies with ultimate capacities equal to or greater than the indicated load values. Exterior/Perimeter Piles CCS 8'-0" o.c ............ 20 kip minimum vertical capacity (ultimate) - As determined by Ram Jack West, the site appears to have no lateral (horizontal) displacements or concerns. As such, the analysis and recommendations presented in this report have been strictly limited to vertical stabilization/jacking. If lateral movement is observed or expected additional structural analysis will be required. - Structural recommendations contained in this package are based on site photographs dated July 26, 2018, provided by Ram Jack West. To the knowledge of L120, a geotechnical investigation was not performed on this site. Consequently, all structural recommendations assume adequate soil conditions to obtain the required pile capacities. Refer to the following pages for pile and connection specifications. SHEET NO. :1 SUBJECT Foundation Stabilization/Jacking BY TAK DATE 08/08/2018 Maximum loading on grade beam determined based on building geometry, and through conservative assumptions regarding span lengths and support walls/foundation. Basically, all concrete walls assumed full tributary span of floor members and roof members. Based on the structure's loading and geometry, L120 concludes that the existing foundation may be stabilized through the use of piles and connections per Ram Jack West, provided the load to each pile is less than or equal to the values specified. The piles are to be attached to the stem -wall (grade -beam) at an on -center spacing no greater than 8'-0". The calculations included within this package assume a wood superstructure and concrete foundation with minimum reinforcement constructed per residential building codes and standard construction practices. L120 further recommends the installation of steel C -channels or equivalent at areas of significant cracking and/or settlement in the stem -wall. These additional elements are to span from pile to pile and be bolted to the existing foundation per Ram Jack West. The inclusion of these supplementary steel elements is at the discretion of Ram Jack West. L120 ENGINEERING & DESIGN Case 1.
