SUMMARY:
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee had presented recommendations to the Bremerton City
Council for their consideration. However, the recommendations were not approved as
presented during the August 15, 2018 Council Meeting, and were returned to the Lodging Tax
Advisory Committee (LTAC) with direction to increase funding to the Conference Center and to
reconsider several of the applicants' allocations.
The LTAC then met on September 6, 2018 to review the requests. Revised recommendations
to City Council were provided for consideration. During the September 26 Study Session,
Council's only suggestion was to increase the Dominion Historical Workboat Association's
allocation to $4,000 which then reduced the Reserve Allocation by $3,000.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): RCW 67.28 specifies that a municipality may either
accept or reject the committee's recommendations. If any individual recommendation is rejected by
City Council, then the unallocated amount will be held in the fund's reserve and that unfunded
organization will have significantly reduced marketing efforts for Bremerton.

Move to accept the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's recommendations as amended; and to
include the allocations in the City of Bremerton's Fiscal Year 2019 Proposed Budget.
