This vehicle was a surplus vehicle that had been outfitted for use to water the hanging flower baskets, pots, planters and planting beds associated with the City's Flower Program. Due to savings in the Personnel budget, it is being requested to use the savings to offset the purchase of a new truck for this function. The requested vehicle is Ford F-550 outfitted with a flatbed chassis, water tank and pump. Over the past few years we have been purchasing pre-built service trucks built to our specifications from Cobalt Truck Equipment of Spokane WA. The total cost for the truck per quotes is $70,575.00 including Washington State sales tax. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Sole Source Memo; 2) Quote; 3) Picture FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Parks & Recreation anticipates a minimum savings of$90,000 in the department's 2018 Personnel budget due to vacancies. Staff is requesting a budget adjustment to reallocate $80,000 from Personnel to Supplies & Services as an equipment interfund charge. The total ERR budget increase (Fund 510) is $80,000.
