SUMMARY: The existing two ESSCO submersible pumps at pump station OB -7, have reached the
end of their useful life and need to be replaced.
Since these pumps were originally placed in service over 29 years ago, we requested a quote from
ESSCO Pumps & Controls, for two new submersible pumps. The most cost-efficient approach is to
use ESSCO pumps again so that the mounting configuration stays the same.
The proposal we received from ESSCO Pump & Controls is $63,359.87 including shipping and
Washington State Sales Tax.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is included in the 2018 WW CIP-WWTP &
Pump Station Improvement Program, with a $500,000 budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the purchase of two (2) Submersible Pumps from
ESSCO Pump & Controls in the amount of $63,359.87 including Washington State Sales Tax and
shipping; and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the purchase with substantially the same
terms and conditions as presented.
