SUBJECT: Acceptance of Lodging Tax Study Session Date: August 8, 2018

SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton anticipates approximately $850,000 in revenue will be
available for distribution in Fiscal Year 2019.
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) received sixteen (16) requests for funding.
Committee members reached consensus and are recommending funding to all of the applicants
and to continue the City of Bremerton's commitment to the Kitsap Conference Center and the
Admiral Theatre Foundation.
Recommended allocations include $437,000 for non-profit organizations and $13,000 to be carried
over as part of the beginning fund balance for Fiscal Year 2019.
It is also recommended that $250,000 be allocated for operations at Kitsap Conference Center.
The City of Bremerton has an agreement with the Admiral Theatre Foundation through 2022 for
$150,000/year.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): RCW 67.28 specifies that a municipality may either
accept or reject the committee's recommendations. If any individual recommendation is rejected by
City Council, then the unallocated amount will be held in the fund's reserve and that unfunded
organization will have significantly reduced marketing efforts for Bremerton.

Move to accept the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's recommendations as presented; and to
include the allocations in the City of Bremerton's Fiscal Year 2019 Proposed Budget.
