SUMMARY: This Spring the Street Department removed vegetation on the last section of the
Gateway and replaced with hardscape using Montana River Rock. The initial estimate was for 230
Tons of Rock which was within the PWU purchasing authority at $24,067.20. Due to the excavation
it was determined that more rock was needed to complete the section, because we were mobilized
onsite and had WSDOT assistance with traffic control the decision was made to continue with the
project and bring to Council for approval.
