HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/06/2018 5FAGENDA BILL 5 F CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Purchase of four (4) new Study Session Date: Fairbanks Morse Dry -Pit Submersible COUNCIL MEETING Date: Pumps from Granich Engineering Products, Department: Inc. for Pump Stations OB -3, OB -4, KL -3, Presenter: and KL -4 Phone: May 23, 2018 June 6, 2018 PW&U/WWTP Pat Coxon (360) 473-5449 SUMMARY: The existing dry -pit submersible pumps at pump stations OB -3, OB -4, KL -3, and KL -4 have reached the end of their useful life, and need to be replaced. These pumps have been installed over seventeen years, and the required repairs to keep them on-line have reached the point to where it is no longer financially feasible. We requested a quote from Granich Engineering Products, Inc. for the direct replacement of these pumps at the cost of $14,347.13 each including Washington State Sales Tax and shipping. We did not request quotes from any other pump vendors as this is a direct bolt -in replacement pump without any added modifications by staff, and in 2017 we replaced the other four pumps. So this will complete the pumps upgrades for all four stations. A Sole Source Memo is on file for the previous purchase, and the justification is still applicable.
